Minneapolis Public Schools seeks reserve and substitute teachers for a 2026–2027 citywide candidate pool. Assignments and hours vary; inclusion in the pool does not guarantee an assignment. Teach assigned classes, follow lesson plans, supervise students, maintain a safe classroom, communicate student progress and behavior to staff, and support instruction across schools. Short-call substitutes need a valid Minnesota teaching license or short-call license; the listed rate is $26.46 per hour. Long-call substitutes need a standard Minnesota license in the subject taught and are paid $28.12 per hour for qualifying assignments. Cadre reserves are paid $35.72 per hour, must have the applicable Minnesota license and at least one year of district substitute experience, and must be available on school duty days.
